Britain’s latest UFC heavyweight prospect has his next fight scheduled.
Tom Aspinall’s wishes have been granted as he will face Moldova’s Serghei Spivac at a UFC event on October 10, expected to be held on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The UFC confirmed the booking on twitter earlier this week.
Aspinall (8-2) made a dream start to his UFC career last time the promotion touched down in Abu Dhabi, stopping Jake Collier 45 seconds into the very first round with a vicious right hand. In the aftermath the Team Kaobon trained heavyweight called out Spivac for a bout later in the year. The 27 year old has finished his last four opponents all in the first round.
Spivac (11-2) got back to winning ways on Fight Island, claiming all three rounds in a decision win over Carlos Felipe, the first time the ‘Polar bear’ has won a decision in his professional career. The 25 year old has won two of four UFC contests to date, and entered the promotion with a perfect 9-0 record and a WWFC heavyweight belt around his waist. So far his two career losses have come at the hands of Walt Harris and Marcin Tybura.
The UFC’s October 10 card will be headlined by Marlon Moraes and Cody Sandhagen in an important bantamweight matchup.
