A classic prospect vs. veteran matchup has been made official for the ‘Trilogy’.
Steve Aimable and Jordan Vucenic are set to meet in a featherweight contest at Cage Warriors 116, as part of the final night of fights of their ‘Trilogy’ series. The event takes place behind closed doors at the BEC Arena in Manchester on September 26. On Thursday, the fight was made official on the promotion’s official Twitter page.
Aimable (14-7) has had twenty one fights over his near eight-year professional career and is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Perry Goodwin. ‘Diddy Kong’ has a 4-4 record for Cage Warriors, having made his debut for the promotion back in 2014. The 33-year-old was awarded a featherweight title shot last November against Mads Burnell but Aimable missed weight so the belt ended up not being on the line.
Vucenic (5-1) won his Cage Warriors debut last time out, picking up a unanimous decision victory against Konmon Deh. ‘The Epidemic’ is on a three fight winning streak including stoppages of Martin Paterson and the previously undefeated Rachid Hazand. Vucenic also owns a victory over IMMAF world champion and BRAVE CF standout, Shoaib Yousaf.
Cage Warriors 116 is expected to feature two title fights, with lightweight champion, Mason Jones, and Adam Proctor battling it out for the vacant welterweight strap, and French star, Morgan Charriere, and German, Max Coga squaring off for the vacant featherweight belt.
