Two highly ranked European middleweights have been matched for an end-of-year UFC Fight Night card.
Darren Till is scheduled to face Jack Hermansson at a show on December 5 but a venue and location have not yet been named. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto first broke the news and this was later confirmed by a report from MMA Junkie. The fight is dependent on Till receiving doctor’s clearance for the knee injury he sustained in his last bout.
Till (18-3-1) came up short against Robert Whittaker, losing a razor thin decision to the former champion on ‘Fight Island’ last month. ‘The Gorilla’ made his first foray into the UFC’s middleweight division last November, claiming a split decision win over Kelvin Gastelum following back-to-back losses at welterweight to Tyron Woodley and Jorge Masvidal.
Hermansson (21-5) scored a brilliant first round submission of Kelvin Gastelum last month, submitting the former title challenger in just over a minute. The Norwegian has now won five of his last six, with his only setback during this time coming at the hands of Jared Cannonier in September of last year. ‘The Joker’ has a 8-3 record in the promotion, which includes six finishes (3 TKO/KO’s and 3 submissions).
The card does not yet have any other confirmed bouts, with more fights to be added over the coming months.
