A middleweight fight between former Cage Warriors champion, James Webb, and UFC veteran, Craig White, is set for Cage Warriors 115, as first reported by MMA Junkie. The event will take place on Friday, September 25 behind closed doors at Manchester’s BEC Arena, and it will be the second consecutive night of MMA as part of the European promotion’s “THE TRILOGY” series.
Team KF’s Webb (7-2-1) won the vacant title back in March 2019, but after leaving a brace of contests without a win against current champion, Nathias Frederick, he was sent back to the drawing board. The Colchester native rebounded in dominant fashion over Mick Stanton at Cage Warriors 112 earlier this year, and Webb now looks to re-establish himself as a title contender once again as he welcomes White back to the Cage Warriors middleweight division.
It’s been 9 years since White (14-11) donned the famous yellow gloves at a contracted weight of 186 lbs and over 4 years since he fought at middleweight, period. After a short-lived UFC tenure that saw him lose on short notice to Neil Magny, followed by a lop-sided defeat to UFC legend Diego Sanchez, ‘The Thundercat’ made his Cage Warriors return in 2019. Unfortunately for White, it would be a year to forget inside the cage, as further welterweight losses to Joilton Santos and Louis Glismann extended his now 4-fight losing streak. White will look to make a statement with a win over the former champion in an attempt to reinvent himself at middleweight.
Cage Warriors 115 will be broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass around the world.
