Ireland’s Ian Garry is scheduled to face England’s George McManus on Friday, September 25 at CW115. The news was first broken by Garry himself in an interview with Peter Carroll and Niall McGrath on The Bash podcast. Cage Warriors 115 will be the promotion’s second event in as many nights as part of the promotion’s ‘THE TRILOGY’ series.
Garry (3-0) has been widely touted as one of the hottest prospects coming out of Ireland. The Team KF welterweight made his professional debut against fellow Irishman, James Sheehan, winning what was an absolute war between two young talents by unanimous decision. ‘The Future’ fought twice more in 2019, stopping Matteo Ceglia and Mateusz Figlak. His most recent outing against Figlak saw the Malahide man secure a first-round submission victory in front of a raucous Irish crowd at Neptune Stadium, Cork.
McManus (3-1) has notched 11 submission victories to date during his amateur and professional career, and all three of his pro wins have come inside the first round. McManus was also nominated for the 2018 Cage Warriors “Submission of the Year” award for his reverse triangle choke over Josh Plant (2-2) at CW98. McManus hasn’t fought since that night in October 2018. The 1st Legion purple belt was scheduled to face Martyn Harris in May 2019, but McManus was forced to withdraw from the contest due to injury.
Cage Warriors 115 will be broadcast LIVE on UFC Fight Pass around the world.
